so i bought this tv in jan. 2019 and its good fair priced and does the job. around march 2020 3 dark tint lines appear on the screen all with normal use no accidents. i continue to use it since warranty ended in jan 2020. then july 2020 the image starts to get dark and tinted as in the photo i posted. horrible tv and experience. bought an lg and not looking back.

Will not connect to WIFI. Don't buy this trash!

it won't connect to my verizon router but will connect to my phone's mobile hotspot. my laptop, google home, phone, and ps4 connects to my verizon router so i know it's not the router. furthermore, when it does show there's a connection to my mobile hotspot somehow will not connect to hulu, netflix or anything app. this was the worst product i've ever owned.

this is hands down the worst tv ive ever had the displeasure of using. 1. picture is terrible. 2. for a smart tv, its barely works. internet connection drops non stop. doesn't detect internet connection. apps dont work. If it does connect, it is the slowest connection so nothing loads. 3. the customer service is terrible. they help solve nothing. I've owned cheaper TVs much better than this. it is a 30 minute ordeal everytime i try to turn it on and watch something. do yourselves the favor and buy something different. this is awful!

setup chip is very limited. under sound there is custom choice. that is a joke as there is no custom setting you can make. picture size you are limited to 16:9 standard or letterbox 4:3 no stretching picture wide. speakers on this tv are cheap and can't handle the sound output. at 50% volume you can't hear the sound. turn up to 75% to hear the sound. second later speakers blows. good thing i got my denon avr-s750h 7.2-channel home theater receiver with wi-fi. i setup the hdmi and no more blown speakers sounds.

Display is nice. Audio is ok. You cannot adjust the quality of the display. There are no settings control. This means your data use is enormous, and expensive. Settings are limited overall. UI is clunky. Remote is ill laid out and takes a lot of getting used to.

Was so excited to purchase but then......

I purchased my tv on Black Friday - having waited for the price to drop. All I can say is that my 1080p tv with apple tv is much clearer - there is definitely no 4K happening. My internet provider is AT&T with 300mps. I need to keep unplugging my Samsung to try and get a better picture. Forget sports - If I don't refresh the router and tv it is unwatchable. Very disappointed.

Terrible Purchase

I bought this TV last year after Christmas and within six months I could not turn the TV on with the remote. It has to be unplugged in order to turn the TV on with the remote. Once the TV was on, I would lose the sound on whatever channel it was on. The only way to get the sound back was to switch to another station. I now have to take my TV from Burlington to Guelph to get it repaired.

Garbage in a Box

Just bought this tv today and it only worked for 3 hours. Then the screen went black and started turning it self on and off, which doesn't stop until you unplug it. Called Samsung support and they just said to unplug and plug back in that was their useful advice to me.

So disappointed of this tv and Samsung. Worst thing is that I want to buy another tv and keep reading that even 7 gen and 8 gen keeps having the same issue. A smart tv that is not capable at all of keeping a wireless connection with the router. I have my router literally less than 3 ft from this tv and still every single day I must connect this tv to my WiFi. Crazy how i must even type my password every single day on this tv and the insignia tv that I bought at Best Buy never ever gave this problem. Super dissatisfied, super disappointed. I returned this tv and make the huge mistake of buying another because I could not believe this was happening. Still having the same issue. This software is the worst ever! Will take the Roku software anyway ahead of this Samsung tv software. Unfortunately Roku TVs don't have this image quality that is the only reason why I will ever buy a samsung tv.

Can handle a h.265 plex stream raw; not transcoded

This television has an excellent picture. I receive signals over-the-air. Even 20-year-old programs look better. The set-up was really easy with my Samsung Galaxy Tab A (I recommend it, too). I had previously had a Vizio. Samsung was the right choice. The reason my review is only 4 stars is the remote. The layout and size of the buttons make it hard to use.

Frustrating as heck

First, I had to spend an hour on the phone with tech support just to get the TV to work. My Samsung ID would not work and the tech had to take control of the unit and try numerous "tricks" to finally get it to work. Second, the "Smart Hub" is complete garbage. It is full of useless pre-loaded apps that CAN NOT BE REMOVED. It also presents "SPONSORED" apps, also known as ads, that I didn't waste my money to have to deal with. Third, you can't move your apps ahead of the Samsung pre-loaded apps so you have to search for the one you want EVERY TIME YOU TURN ON THE TV. I can't find a way for it to just start with the last app that was used. I have to waste a few minutes each time I turn on the TV to find the app I want. And finally, the viewing angle is terrible. If you are not right in front of the set the picture washes out. This is the most frustrating piece of junk I have ever owned.

Upgraded an older model Samsung 32' to this Smart TV version. Pros: easy to connect to wi-fi, channel searching with antenna, takes a few tries to familarize yourself with the screens, great picture. Cons: lettering already rubbing off remote, minimal volume to hear higher than most Samsung models, no backlight on remote, placing legs on would be difficult for older adults with eyesight and coordination issues.

I HATE THIS TV

I received this tv as a gift and since DAY ONE I've had the same issue! I'm so FED UP. EVERY TIME I turn it on it opens to the built in app TV Plus. But then freezes and then when I try to exit and go to a different app it lets me select it but doesn't start up. I have to unplug it and restart it EVERY TIME I wanna watch tv. It also freezes every time I try to switch apps. For instance if I'm watching Netflix and then go to watch Hulu IT FREEZES and I have to unplug it AGAIN. I've called the customer support MULTIPLE TIMES and every time they tell me that they've "fixed it" or that everything looks good or that it's my internet connection. So I called Xfinity and got a new modem JUST to fix this VERY INFURIATING AND IRRITATING issue and it didn't make a difference. So that tells me that they don't do everything in their power to check EVERYTHING BEFORE I hang up and let the next person deal with it. If my mom hadn't bought me this for my birthday I would be smashing it to pieces right now

Won't play anything on amazon prime

I've had this TV for several months and it seems great until I try to stream from Amazon prime, which only works about 10% of the time. I've spoken to my service provider, done speed tests and other services stream fine but I get an error on prime that says my bandwidth is insufficient. Boo. Lame. Seems to likely be an issue with sansung's Prime app, since it works on my other tv, fire stick, laptop and phone. Tech support with my ISP said that they've heard this complaint from other people with Samsung TVs.

Great TV for the price so far

I bought the TV to replace an older dual core model as waiting for the "TV to be prepared" was extremely annoying. This one comes up much faster and the picture is very nice. One issue I have is that I have an older dish that has the primary out as HDMI but a secondary unit only puts out coax which is what I was trying to connect this TV to.. this TV absolutely will not recognize the coax input from the dish to it so I can't view any of my programs on it. I can't find anywhere in the specs or manual that said it wouldn't be able to. The only thing I can find is that ANY device must be plugged into an HDMI port with the exception of the coax antennae (which the dish is). Also even choosing the exterior speakers, it would not recognize the ARC HDMI port and I was forced to use an Optical audio cable even though my HDMI is rated for it. I also despise that every time you exit an app it pops up another application for you to rent movies/shows instead of you just being able to choose what you want to display.

Big, BIG Mistake!

I have two small Samsung Smart TVs with which I am quite satisfied and based on this satisfaction made the major mistake of buying the Class NU6900 4K UHD, sight unseen, thinking I was upgrading, only to find it ain't so Smart. Downgrades from my other Samsungs: Only 2 HDMI ports and NO RCA inputs. (I spent another $50 on an HDMI-to-RCA adapter -- the NU6900 gives me a little red power icon and says check my connections.) My older Samsungs recognize multiple USB flash drives at once -- the NU6900 will only recognize one at a time. It won't even recognize a single flash drive if the USB extension cable if it has multiple inputs. The NU6900 gets 2 stars for great picture quality and light weight. Back to the store it goes.

Issues!

I received this TV 7 days ago and the picture randomly bounces to the left multiple times every few minutes. Turning the TV off for a minute temporarily resolves it, but the problems returns. After doing a power cycle, taking the cable TV off a splitter, and resetting the TV to factory, the problem persists. My last Samsung TV which I have had for 5 years never did this and it was using the same cable connection. I swore I would never buy anything except Samsung, but I don't have much choice but try a different brand.

Unsatisfied with the design of the remote control

The TV is great but I had another model with the remote control very well designed, simple, elegant and I was expecting the same for this model. I was disappointed when I found an old dated remote control.

Save your money and buy a nicer TV

I bought this TV from Best Buy (who wouldn't post my negative review) on black Friday 2018. I have been a huge fan on Samsung products in the past, especially their tvs. I have to say that this is hands down the worst tv I have ever owned. The sounds quality is atrocious. I literally HAD to buy a sound bar the day after setting it up as the sound quality was terrible. The picture quality was ok at best, but it seemed to lack color depth. The edge back-lighting does not do a good job lighting the picture in a bright room, and is very uneven with hotspots in a dark room. I was also unable to maintain a stable connection to my gaming pc and would flicker and lose connection. I ended up returning this tv and bought a comparable LG which has been fantastic. Morle of the story, if you are looking for a cheap 4K tv, either fork up some more money for a nicer Samsung product or look elsewhere. Samsung shouldn't even be selling this TV in my opinion.

Horrid picture and interface

The picture is pretty bad compared to the older Samsung plasma I've got. The smart TV interface is just horrible, accessing live tv is not instantaneous, even the interface changing channels and changing the volume is opposing. Huge rolling sidebars on either side of the screen when you adjust volume and channel. No component connections on this TV. There's a bunch of video features with proprietary marketing names that make the text jump up and down, looks like vibrating pixels, then you turn that all off and set the sharpness to zero and you're left with a steady picture but obviously the sharpness isn't there once you've turned it down. Sound is a joke. Maybe the expensive 7 and 8 series are the only way to go. Bring back plasmas my gosh the picture is bad. When you're watching lcd tv watch the people's mouths as they talk it's like watching Godzilla

Awful! 2.4ghz streaming TV that doesn't stream!

Just spend the extra $50! Don't buy this one. We've purchased so many Samsung products and have been loyal to the brand. This is the worst electronics purchase we've ever made. Bought in November 2018 and the TV does not recognize 5g internet. It handles 2.4ghz and doesn't stream our TV apps.

Short on apps

Decent Picute, but Lies in the description

I bought this tv about 4 months ago, and it is pretty great. I am using it as a monitor from about 2 feet away, and the quality is great. The only thing I do not like about it was I thought that it was a 120 Hz tv because of its advertising as a "motion rate 120" tv. It is not, and is capped at 60 Hz.

Black Screen

I'm extremely shocked that I have to write a review about my Samsung Smart TV. I had just purchased this TV 2 months ago and the screen all of a sudden turned completely black as if it was shut off. I tried to turn the device back on and the red indicator button was blinking but, the TV still appeared to be off. I then attempted to unplug the tv and plugging it back in, several times, ranging from 10 minutes to a full day. Then, I attempted to resent the TV by holding down the power button for a few seconds. The red indicator/power light blinked continuously then stopped. Then, I tried transferring the plug into a different outlet thinking that it might have just been a different a low power source hence why it didn't turn on. Foolishly, I didn't buy an extended warranty because I believed all the rave about Samsung having the best TVs on market. I thought to myself "Hey I had lesser quality TVs that lasted 10 years, Samsung should last me long and be better". I tried calling Best' Buy's Geek Squad to see if there was a different method I could use to turn it on but, all they could do was give me the number to Samsung Support. Of course, I had no choice but to call Samsung. All the representative could do was start "troubleshooting" by telling me to do the same exact methods that I did prior to the call. He stated I understand that the TV isn't working properly but Samsung only has a limited warranty. He was more than happy to send a repair team over within the next 3 days but he reassured me that depending on the type of repair, I might need to pay out of pocket. All I can think about is how could a Smart TV by Samsung only last me 2 months. I am highly upset and disappointed.
